Post Re: Some Good News
I have some good news to report.

5 weeks ago I put my fat Corgi, Seymour, on a diet.
The poor thing is horribly overweight.
Corgis are supposed to weigh 45 lbs tops.

He weighs 56 lbs now.
Well, I bought a doggie diet cook book and started cooking for him,
and he has lost 2 lbs.
Which is quite a bit for someone that small!

He loves his homecooked meals more than the dry doggie food from the bags!

Are you going to call him Seyless?

LOL!

Hadn't thought of it ... but it's gonna be about a year before I can call my fat sausage Seyless!

You'll get to meet him when you come over!
Hopefully he will have lost his 10 lbs!

He still has a long way to go!
The veterinarian says he has a slow metabolism, and it happens to dogs, like it does to people.
But he is a Corgi, and they are long bodied and short legged, and the spine is so close to the ground that
the extra weight affects his spine!
I do not want him to break!
Sounds awful! But it could happen!

I don't suppose you've considered strapping a roller skate under his middle?

Or a small skateboard!
Yes!
The thought has crossed my mind!
His legs are short enough!

I wish I could post of picture of fat sausage!
So you all could see him!

As dogs grow older we have to watch their diets. We have to beautiful dogs, they are older. We keep them on a controlled diet.
