And I believe that some of the ones that have been 'upgraded' still have paternoster lifts. The only time I came across one I took the stairs.

Sorry! I am clueless again! I do not know what a "paternoster lift" is.

I know paternoster, and I know lift, but together ... ????

Continuous moving lift with no doors. Up one side, down the other.

My grandson,
Fernando, who is 10 years old,
told me that he is scared that Donald Trump might win the elections.

He said that if Donald Trump wins the elections he wants to move to England!

I think he's heard us, the adults, talking about what a disaster it would be for Trump to win!
He's a quite little guy, and we often forget he is there, and unfortunately, we stupidly talk about things we should not because we forget he is there!

I was the same way!
Always hanging around the grown ups, and always quiet.
It's amazing the things they'd actually talk about because they'd forget I was there!

It is interesting that Donald Trump praises the UK for leaving the EU. We need support but most people in the UK think given the choice between Trump or the EU the EU wins hands down.
It was in the news that someone planted a Mexican flag around his Scottish golf course in the UK. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-n ... d-36586860

He really is not liked here.

Lots of us over here are scared.
But unfortunately, many Americans are naive, and very often under-informed about all things political!
And so many people do not even vote.

He has no tack and no diplomacy.
He has offended people in every single group in this country, even many Republicans,
yet... his "let's make America great" again mantra is winning people over.

I just wonder what will happen at elections time!

Lots of people here do not like him.
Even young people!

Right after the first elections when Obama won the first time, I watched the journalist shows afterwards, as they spoke about how things had gone.
Back then, right after Obama's first win by a landslide, the reporters who had covered the election, share on TV how the Republican Party (the GOP) did not have good leadership!!!

Putin said he liked Trump, just before he bombed Syria, because he did not like that Obama would not join him.
Now Putin hates Trump, says he's a joke.

And he is ...

My landlord likes him!!!

I would be scarred if I was an American. I am also scared because the USA has a lot of influence over here and Trump appears worst than Bush. A total madman.

Bush was "King Bush", I used to call him "King Bush" what he said "went" and if
Congress did not cooperate, he imposed himself.

Trump IS a madman.
He also suffers from that specific syndrome that very rich people fall into, where
people allow them everything -all sorts of eccentricities and bad behaviour- because they want to be
"close to that money pot"!!

He is used to having tantrums and people putting up with his misbehavior.

That's my fear, he does not have proper social skills, he has not "filter" before he speaks, he has made a lot of money, but has also defrauded people.

I tell you ... we are all suffering from lack of leadership!!!
