Post Things I want to do ...
Do you have any new projects,
or ongoing projects that you are working on, or want to work on during this coming Summer?

I want to plant a butterfly garden.

I ordered seeds of plants that attract butterflies and I am going to plant them in big pots in my back garden.

I also learned that butterflies like water, so I am going to buy bird bath, and put about 4 mm of water in it,
so they can stand in the water and not drown!

I did not know they like water.
But I noticed that we get butterflies in our back garden,
and part of it is that the garden floods with the rains, and we have standing water for a while!
And they get water!

Also, I learned that butterflies like bananas and mangoes!
So I plan to provide some slices on the butterfly (bird) bath, on a rock, so they can eat!

I love butterflies and I would love to contribute to their continued existence on our planet!
To me they look like flying flowers, with their beautiful bright colours!

Once the butterfly flower garden is established, I will be buying larvae, so they can turn into butterflies and keep populating the world!

I need to plant a cabbage garden.
A small one, so the butterflies can lay eggs and the "babies" can eat!

Is there any way to post picture here?

I am planning to join a gym!

I need to lose some weight so that I can get back into my clothes.
For the last 6 yrs I have basically and consistently had 2 jobs.

When I was in Chicago I had two full-time jobs: a 9-5 administrative job, and on top of that taught 3-4 classes which is considered a full load. I did have Saturdays and Sundays off. Towards the end I was very sick with a severe vit. D deficiency.

Then I moved to Texas and I have two part-time jobs. And I am working 7 days a week.

So I have not had time to take care of myself. =(

Here I do get sunshine everyday! That is good! Sit outside in the back garden and drink my coffee in the mornings! With the Corgi Clan.

I used to walk all the time, when I was in Illinois, even when the weather was bad, I'd bundle up.
I have thought of walking in my neighborhood,
but there are two issues:
1- it is pitch black! There are very few street lights, and although it is not unsafe over here, I do feel a little creeped out.
2- The other is the heat. When it is really hot, you have to walk either really early in the morn, or very late in the day.
So it complicates everything.

So, I stopped by the gym today, and asked about membership fees.
And looked at the machines they have.
I am interested in their stationary bikes!
And it looks like they have several.
Also,
they are open 24 hrs, which makes things easier for working out!

I could cycle even if it is hot, or raining outside! I can also go around 10pm (22:00), if I need to!

My goal is to get back to the size and weight I was before I became a sitting potato!!
And as you all know, potatoes grow sideways!!!

Been trying to get fit for years. Each attempt never lasted long. It is much harder now I have a chronic back problem. I am told I have to retire. It was a choice of taking drugs that make me drowsy and have poor concentration or limit my life activity. Both paths were incompatible with my work as a Nurse. So I am officially retired as a Nurse. It has been a year since I went to work and we are no further forward. Started to offer my services in a limited way to an OXfam charity shop. It has put stopped my active keep fit plan. Just do my back exercises regularly to keep it going. SO I guess a Marathon is out of the question.

I used to watch the London Marathon but I had to give it up. Just too knackering. Same with work. I could watch that for hours but I have had to slow down and take it easy. I think cricket might be the way forward, you can take the occasional nap and not miss anything.

I think there is a certain age at which people do fall asleep in the chair while watching or reading!
Regardless of how interesting, or boring the topic is!

It's the second infancy! You know how babies fall asleep everywhere?!

Today I am buying a tortoise!
It is a 5 year old Sulcata, also known as the African spurred tortoise.
They live on the borderline of the Sahara desert and where the vegetation begins, in Northern Africa.

This little guy is about 9 " long, so he is not a baby.

His current name is Michealangelo, but he will be renamed "Herman".

The tortoise is a birthday present for my grandson, who will turn 11 next month.

When I get out today from work, I will be meeting "Michael" the turtle seller!

I wish I knew how to post pictures here, so I could post a picture of Herman!
