Mr Zen,

You spend your Junes in France, is that correct?

Are you in England in July?

I want to travel to England in Summer 2017.

But I have to have surgery,
which I think I will do as soon as classes end in June.
Doctor said I'd be in pain for 2 weeks.

But after that I want to go and spend as much time up there, now that I will be able to!
No work in the summers!

My plans are flexible. Next year I will probably be living in a camper van when in the UK.

Are you letting your daughter and the kiddos keep the house?

When you come over, we need to get Texas t-shirts for all your grand-kids and for your daughter!
And candy!!

My daughter will likely be living in Scotland before the end of the year. My house is rented so I will give it up.

Major changes then!
You all won't get to see each other often, then.

Why does she want to move to Scotland?

And I assume you are then actively searching for a camper/caravan for your living arrangements?

Are there camper/caravan parks where you can live?
There are here.
Many retired folks sell their homes and buy a giant caravan and live out the rest of their days traveling.

Both of you will be undertaking new journeys!

Her Mother lives in Scotland and she needs somewhere to live. There are no user friendly motor home areas in the UK. Only seasonal and expensive camp sites. France has thousands. This is the country of the motor home. They are called Aires de Repos. (Rest Areas) Usually free but if they charge, it is very cheap. Big American RV's are not suited to our roads. Or our fuel bills. Using a motor home all year in the UK takes some imagination. Supermarket car parks are favourite.

It makes sense that she will go and be with her mom.
They'll be far away from you, though.
It'll be a long trip to see the grand-kiddos, no?

Where will your "housing" journey lead you to, then, if you are giving up your house?
Will you travel to France and stay there permanently?

Do you have a house or apartment in France?

Montalivet Les Bains is in La Belle France. I have a mobile home here for holiday purposes. And for the information of majestic-12 et al, I am not resident in France. But I like it here.
