All next Monday 16th Nov 7pm at City Hall Fib Dem Rodney Berman is being given a platform to tell us he is doing for climate change when he isn't concreting over Cardiff ButePark or Rumney Rec or 100acres green belt junction 33 or sellling off school playing fields for student flats or planning his incinerator etc

The second Hadyn Ellis Distinguished Lecture on Monday 16 November 2009 will be delivered by the prominent environmentalist, Jonathon Porritt.

Jonathon’s lecture - ‘What it means to live in a low carbon economy’ - will describe how
moving towards such an economy will be one of the key challenges to avoiding significant climate

Founder Director of Forum for the Future and former chairman of the UK Sustainable Development Commission, Jonathon is also an eminent writer, broadcaster and commentator He received a CBE in January 2000 for services to environmental protection and for nine years was chair of the Sustainable Development Commission, the Government’s independent watchdog.

This high profile lecture is being held as a fitting tribute to Professor Hadyn Ellis CBE DSc
(1945-2006), formerly Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Cardiff University, who played a significant role in establishing Cardiff as one of the leading research universities in the UK.

The lecture takes place at the Julian Hodge Lecture Theatre. A pre-lecture reception commences at 18:45pm, followed by the lecture at 19:45pm.
The event is open to members of the public but entrance is by ticket only. Due to the large level
of interest in this lecture, tickets will be allocated on a first come first served basis. To
