Post Digestive Issues
I was recently asked for some advice on digestive issues, so I thought I'd share

Fennel tea - Used for treating colic and gripe in babies and sensitives. Tastes aniseedy which is also good for soothing digestive issues (no alkyhol) lol, very gentle.

Peppermint tea - Antispasmodic, soothing, cooling. Drunk in arab / african countries as a matter of course after heavy, spicy or downright large dinners, to aid digestion and also to freshen breath after such meals. It really does take the weight off, and it's no accident that many restaurants give out mints with your bill! lol This is one of my favourites and I drink it quite a lot, sometimes when I just don't fancy a normal cuppa.

Also, something else you can try is Activia yoghurts. I know they are marketed at women, but I know men who eat them and swear by them as much as I do .. LOL .. They feed the good bacteria that eats the bad bacteria and prevents bloating, pain and it speeds up the digestive process and keeps you regular if you have trouble there.

I've had IBS and food allergies for years (IBS and allergies often go hand in hand but allergy testing can be expensive) and I found that peppermint tea and 2 activias a day stops my bloating and cramps, and keeps my tract working as it should. If I don't follow this rule, I notice the difference!

I stopped coffee and bread and my IBS reversed.Yep,not stopped.

However,I took to drinking morrocan tea, which I enjoy (green with mint).

Unfortunately it gives me gas which is not easy to get rid of when you sit down for a living.

Now when I am at work I just take water and a bit of fruit.

And I'm still 21 stone.

It can't be all down to the rum,.......please!

I tried an herbal sleep remedy once and all it did was give me flatulence that smelled like a field of flowers. Were your farts minty, Zen Dog?

 Jokes aside, I'm going to get some mint tea to try for my tummy troubles!

Post Re: Digestive Issues
My insides change with the weather and I get various abdominal problems.
But I do have one miracle cure for stomach pain and the runs.I can't spell the D word.
I have been using it for many years. When I tell people what it is I get a right sideways look.
My personal home cure was actually vindicated and confirmed in an episode of Quantum Leap when a woman had to be prevented from going into premature labour in the 50's.
You see the same abdominal muscles are involved with giving birth as you know what and it has been discovered that there is a readily available chemical compound that has the effect of sending them to sleep. It is alcohol.Titter ye not.The alcohol MUST be free from contaminants therefore it has to be Smirnoff because it is triple distilled and as pure as is available. You can't have had any alcohol for the previous 12hrs. 35ml max and don't drink any more for 2hrs.Works every time.

You don't shower in it. You drink it. Yes, you get mildly drunk so don't operate machinery but if you get the grip like I do you can't anyway.
I also have a cure for hiccups.1/2 pint water. At a temperature so that when you put your little finger in it you can not tell wether it is hot or cold ie perfect body temperature.
Drink it straight down slowly but continuously without gulping.I know how and why it works but I have to have some secrets.

I once had a vodka massage. It was in a boozers in the Hielanmans umbrella.First I was sprinkled with the spirit of the grain and then I was pummeled with the fists of the Glaswegian.
