Post Portable Circle
This involves a talisman of your choice. It could be a ring, pendant necklace or any other trinket which you would carry with you at any time.

Take the talisman into your sacred space and cast the circle as you would normally.

Cleanse the talisman and imbue it with the powers of the four quarters and the Goddess and God as you would any tool or talisman.

Request that the Deities/quarters acknowledge the talisman and that on recitation of the correct trigger (whatever you want here, lines from a favourite poem, repeating a loved ones name etc it is limited only by imagination) the talisman cast a circle around your personal space.

The idea is that you can cast a protective circle of sorts. It is almost like a skin tight shell of magical protection that can be summoned in an emergency without the full ceremony of your normal circle.

Why would you need this?
Well its use is only limited by your imagination. Maybe you have depression or get anxious in crowds. You could be sat on a bus feeling in need of a little self reflection and not be in a position to lay out tools and cast a circle.

to use it you grasp your talisman, recite your trigger and give special thanks to the powers for this unceremonial appeal. This casts the 'shell' or 'circle' around your personal space, visualising it wrapping you in the same magical field that you enjoy in a circle and then you can feel free to focus your energies. This can be totally easy to perform and nobody around you will have any idea what you are doing. You'll just appear to be sat in your seat in the bus keeping yourself to yourself but you will know you are within your sacred space all by yourself.

I have a leather pouch with some round wooden coin shaped discs, it was made by scorch, she also made my alter plate, the small portable alter is a very handy thing and worth making or buying one if you can't, they can be carried easily and discreatly.

A technique for casting the circle when space is limited that I had the pleasure of whitnessing and have used many times involves use of a quartz crystal. I use one of my larger crystals for this purpose. You stand in the middle of the space and holding the crystal with both hands, raise it above your head and direct energy thru the crystal (which being quartz will magnify the energy) and "push" the energy circle outward to enclose the desired or available space within an energy sphere.

When I first saw this used, there were several people attending a Dark Moon circle that was being held indoors and the room was not large enough to practically permit casting the circle in the normal manner given the number of people present.

That sounds like a good idea - it is along the lines of a portable circle but with the ability to extend it to cover others. I am ging to try it.
