Post Merry Christmas
We do not have snow in Puerto Rico. This is a little tropical island. But there is one thing we enjoy in December: Christmas, and you do not have to be a Christian. We sing, we dance, we laugh! That is the spirit of Christmas in Puerto Rico.

So to my sisters and brother in the United Kingdom and elsewhere, may you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2016. Let us forget the pains of years past and enjoy the good that life will bring in this new future.

Your brother and friend,
Hermano Luis

Post Re: Merry Christmas
Forget the pain? I wouldn't be human. 'Christmas' is just a name. A lingua franca. For me it is the solstice, Yule and Saturnalia too. I know the solstice is on the 21st but armistice day is on the nearest Sunday for convenience. It is only in recent years people have been observing the 11th. I am constantly surprised by the christian association with the day considering they abolished it during the republic. If anything were to make me a monarchist it would be the happy chappy, the merry monarch, who liked his oranges, snigger snigger. As the Rev I.M.Jolly might have said. "Seasonal Greet from Montalivet Les Bains"...................... This French wine is awf'y guid................................................................................................ I'll get me coat.

That's me in the corner.
