Post Man to sue the Baptist church
A man is reported to want to sue the Baptist church for causing him psychological harm, ruining his foot ball career, and taking his money by compulsary donations.

Hmmn! Do you think I could sue the treasury?
I've been making compulsory donations to it for some time now.
And I'm sure I could have done better things with the money.

That would be an interesting one. I have often thought about it myself.

to bad it may not happen.not sure about your laws over there, but i think it would be difficult to do.

as far as sueing your tax collecters(i have other words for them, none of which i can use here),they would send you whole forests of letters to tell you what they have done for you.

like i have told the irs(also known as government highway men),next time use some lube.

Was this man any good at playing football? Did he ever play for Manchester United? Did the Baptist Church force him to abandon his career in football? I do not think that he has a case.

I agree that he is on very uncertain ground with regard to his career and money, but on the ground of psychological damage, I am unsure.

I think that many of us who grew up in earlier decades suffered great psychological harm "at the hands of churches". Not every injury is "actionable". Not every injury is intentional. I think it would be next-to-impossible to show that a given church had deliberately injured me or you, and failing to show intentionality, one would have to show gross negligence, imho.

Ah but it does not have to be deliberate for one to sue someone over here. If you look at the asbestos problems. I am sure many small businesses did not realise they were putting people at risk but they were still able to sued for the damage.
